Team news ahead of Tuesday's League One clash between Sheffield United and Notts County at Bramall Lane (kick-off 2.15pm).

Sheffield United will be without suspended midfielder Lee Williamson.

Williamson will serve an automatic one-game ban under the totting-up procedure and that could leave manager Danny Wilson short of options in midfield with Kevin McDonald and Nick Montgomery rated doubtful.

McDonald is struggling with a knee injury sustained last week in the win at Bournemouth while Montgomery has been laid low by a chest infection, although he returned to full training this week.

Johnny Ertl could provide Wilson with one midfield solution. The Austrian is almost back to full match fitness following a serious knee injury and stepped off the bench last week.

Striker James Beattie is still working to regain his match fitness after rejoining the Blades last month. The 33-year-old has been hindered by a calf injury and must wait for his second debut.

Notts County are monitoring injuries to Krystian Pearce and Gavin Mahon.

Defender Pearce had been playing despite a groin problem for a handful of weeks before finally succumbing and missing the visit of Leyton Orient last weekend.

Manager Martin Allen said: "Krystian will be rested, treated and tested at the end of the week.

"You never know with groins. We are hoping it is just tightness and he will not need an operation. If it is a hernia in his groin, it could be anything from five to eight weeks."

A groin problem also saw Mahon forced off after just 17 minutes against Orient and the midfielder has been sent for a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

Meanwhile, striker Ben Burgess has been given indefinite leave by the club following the premature birth of his son.
